Markets in Europe were high at 5.30 AM New York time.

The FTSE was up .3% to 6,173. Barclays was up .3% to 72.35. BP was down .9% to 577.5  BT as up .5% to 283.5. GlaxoSmithKline was up 1% to 1354. Prudential was up 1.7% to 698. Reuters was up .3% to 483.75. Unilever was up .7% to 1368. Vodafone was up .7% to 138.25.

The DAXX was up .6% to 6,466. Bayer was up .1% to 39.76. DaimlerChrysler was up 1.5% to 45.13. DeutscheBank was up .9% to 100.1. Deutsche Telekom was up .9% to 13.46. Siemens was down .4% to 73.32.

The CAC 40 was up .7% to 5,419. Alacatel/Lucent was flat at 10.12. AXA was up .6% to 29.55. France Telecom was up 1.4% to 19.87. Vivendi was down .1% to 29.26. ST Micro was up .7% to 13.89.
