Several Asian markets were closed, but the Hang Seng rose sharply again.

The Hang Seng was up .5% to 20,413. Cathay Pacific fell 4% to 18.84. China Moble rose 1.3% to 70.6. China Unicom fell 1% to 11.38. HSBC rose .9% to 144.8. PCCW rose 2.3 to 4.83.

The KOSPI was down 1.8% to 1,409.

The Straits Times was up 1.7% to 3,038.
