Markets in Asia were narrowly mixed.

The Nikkei fell .4% to 17,310. Bridgestone fell .2% to 2615. Canon fell .8% to 6440. Fuji Film fell 1% to 4720. Hitachi fell .3% to 794. Honda rose 1.5% to 4810. NEC fell 1.1% to 604. NTT rose .8% to  614000. Softbank rose .9% to 2610. Sony rose .5% to 5660. Toshiba fell 1.5% to 800. Toyota was flat at 7890. Yahoo Japan rose 3.1% to 48900.

The Hang Seng rose .3% to 20,328. Cathay Pacific rose 3.1% to 21.4 China Mobile rose .4% to 70.8. China Netcom fell 2.4% to 18.32. HSBC rose 1.1% to 143. PCCW rose .6% to 4.7.

The KOSPI fell 1.6% to 1,361.

The Straits Times rose .4% to 3,073.

The Shanghai Composite moved up 2.7% to 2,831.
