Markets in Europe were up at 6.20 AM New York time.

The FTSE was up .5% to 6,463. Barclays (BCS) rose 1.5% to 732.5. BP (BP) was up .8% to 573, BT (BT) was up 1% to 315.75, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) was up 1.3% to 1490. Reuters (RTRSY) was down .8% to 480. Vodafone (VOD) was flat at 141.8.

The DAXX was up .6% to 7,316. DaimlerChrysler (DCX) was .4% to 58.7. DeutscheBank (DB) was .9% to 113.22. Deutsche Telekom (DT) was down .2% to 13.22. Siemens (SI) was up .5% to 89.66.

The CAC 40 was up .8% to 5,935. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) was up 2.2% to 9.83. AXA (AXA) was up .9% to 33.78. France Telecom (FTE) was down .5% to 20.86. ST Micro (STM) was down .6% to 15.01. Michelin was up 5.3% to 93.15.
