Markets in Asia rose with Shanghai up over 2%.

The Nikkei rose .6% to 17,588. Toyota (TM) rose .3% to 7300. Sharp rose 2.2% to 2305.

The Hang Seng rose a fraction to 20,530. China Petroleum (SNP) rose 2.8% to 8.17. PCCW (PCW) rose 1% to 4.96.

The Shanghai Composite rose 2.2% to 4,272.

At 6.15 AM New York Time, Europe markets were mixed with London and German exchanges closed.

The CAC 40 was off a fraction to 6,056. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) was up .3% to 10.3. France Telecom (FTE) was up .5% to 22.53.
