Markets in Asia were slightly higher with the Hong Kong market closed.

The Nikkei was up .1% to 18,164. NTT (NTT) was down 1.3% to 553000. Docomo (DCM) was down 2.5% to 194000. Sony (SNE) was down .1% to 6700.

The Shanghai Composite rose .4% to 4,270.
