Markets in Europe were narrowly mixed at 6.30 AM New York time.

The FTSE rose .2% to 6,482. BT (BT) was up 311. Northern Rock fell 15.8% to 148.1.

The DAXX rose .1% to 7,869. Deutsch Bank (DB) fell 1.2% to 89.3. Siemens (SI) rose .4% to 96.85.

The CAC 40 fell a fraction to 5,715. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) fell 2.6% to 7.01. Vivendi rose 1.3% to 29.98.
