Markets in Europe were up at 6.40 AM New York Time.

The FTSE rose .8% to 6,686. BHP Billiton (BHP) rose 2.9% to 1854. BP (BP) rose1.5% to 588.5. BT (BT) rose 2.9% to 313. GSK (GSK) fell 1.4% to 1293.

The DAXX was up .7% to 8,039. Lufthansa rose 3.1% to 21.87. VW rose 4.4% to 183.

The CAC 40 moved up .5% to 5,869. Cap Gemini rose 3.5% to 48.27. EADS rose 2.3% to 23.33. France Telecom (FTE) rose 2.9% to 23.82.
