Markets in Asia were mostly higher.

Tokyo was closed for a holiday

The Hang Seng rose 1% to 25,925. China Netcom (CN) rose 3.9% to 24.05. China Petroleum (SNP) rose 2% to 8.22.

The Shanghai Composite rose 1.4% to 3,523.
