Markets in Asia were mixed.

The Nikkei fell 1% to 12,558. Chip-making equipment supplier Tokyo Electron slid 4.4 percent to 5650.

The Hang Seng dropped .5% to 20,493.

The Shanghai Composite moved up a fraction to 2,277.
