The latest rumor on Wall St. is that Washington Mutual (WM) will be auctioned off and has retained Goldman Sachs (GS) to handle the deal. According to The New York Times, Wells Fargo (WFC), JP Morgan (JPM), and HSBC (HBC) are possible bidders.
