Very true this article although as with any generalization not completely true. Their are legitimate uses of FaceBook though none lends itself to advertisers.

It's good to park your profile their with just your name and picture as a means for frends to find you (being that email addresses change all the time).

I did an experiment with FaceBook & MySpace. I signed and posted my picture and left public but said nothing. I never log in. I only ever received sex and other spam 'pokes', trolls, and a smattering of about a half dozen friends who likewise created a page out of curiosity (hype), did a thing or two and then left it abandoned on the expressway as well.

Of course for a teeny-booper trapped in a boring class that is lucky enough to have an iPhone, FaceBook can seem interesting. Especially since teeny-boopers are so interested in the impression they make on other teeny-boopers anyway.

This is sooo true, I think facebook was trendy in 2007 but during 2008 all the normal middle class trendy people stop using it, if you want to see who actually spends time on facebook regularly now....its the types of people the author mentioned...racists, unemployed, online idiotic trolls, misfits, fake profiles, porn spammers, other spammers, dossers, stay at home mums or dads with kids and immature students looking to kill time. Its just a gutter trash site now. People dont even use it any more unless someone leaves a message and they may log in to read it, otherwise most of the profiles are defunct.
