Markets in Asia were mixed.

The Nikkei rose 1.7% to 9,239.

The Hang Seng was down 3.3% to 14,992.

The Shanghai Composite was down .7% to 1,924.

At the open, the FTSE was off .4% to 4,620. The Daxx was off ,5% to 5,002 and the CAC 40 was down ,7% to 3,372.
