Asia Markets And Europe Open 1/28/2009

The Nikkei was up .6% to 8,016.

Markets in China were closed for a holiday.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up .9% to 4,231. The Dax rose 1% to 4,367 and the CAC 40 was up 1.2% to 2,991.
