Markets in Asia were higher.

The Nikkei rose 1% to 7,779.

The Hang Seng was up 2.2% to 13,527.

The Shanghai Composite rose 3.2% to 2,321.

In Europe, at the open, the FTSE was up 1.1%. to 4,260. The Dax rose 1.2% to 4,460. The CAC 40 was up 1.5% to 3,010.
