Most Asia markets were pounded down.

The Nikkei fell 3.8% to 7,280.

The Hang Seng was off 3.7% to 12,232.

The Shanghai Composite rose .5% to 2,093.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was down 1.8% and HSBC (HBC) was off 6%. The Dax was off .6% to 3,809. The CAC 40 dropped 2.3% to 2,639.
