Markets in Asia were mostly higher.

The Nikkei rose 1.2% to 8,858.

The Hang Seng was up 2% to 14,831.

The Shangha Composite fell .2% to 2,420.

At the open, in Europe, the FTSE was up 1.3%. The Dax rose 1.1% to 4,434, and the CAC 40 was up 1.1% to 2,291.
