Markets in Asia were narrowly mixed.

The Nikkei fell .2% to 8,833.

The Hang Seng was off .5% to 14,917.

The Shanghai Composite rose .8% to 2,435.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up .7%. The Dax rose .6% to 4,374, and the CAC 40 was up .6% to 2,946.
