Markets in Asia were mixed.

The Nikkei rose 1.7% to 8,908.

The Hang Seng was up 1% to 15,712.

The Shanghai Composite fell 1.2% to 2,504.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up The Dax rose .3% to 4,631. The CAC 40 was up .4% to 3,050.
