Markets in Asia fell sharply.

The Nikkei was off 2.6% to 9,094.

The Hang Seng was down 3.3% to 16,501.

The Shanghai Composite fell .9% to 2,640.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE fell .2% to 4,322. The Dax was down .1% to 4,721. The CAC 40 was flat at 3,154.
