Markets in Asia were mostly higher.

The Nikkei rose 1.3% to 9,347.

The Hang Seng was up .6% to 17,172.

The Shanghai Composite rose .5% to 2,610.

At the open in Europe, the UK markets were closed. The Dax was up .6% to 4,920. The CAC 40 moved higher by .1% to 3,229.
