Markets in Asia were higher.

The Nikkei rose 1.3% to 9,437.

The Hang Seng was up 4.9% to 17,629.

The Shanghai Composite rose 1.7% to 2,833.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up .4% to 4,429. The Dax was up .5% to 5,011 and the CAC 40 rose .4% to 3,281.
