Markets in Asia were higher.

The Nikkei rose .4% to 9,826.

The Hang Seng was up 1.6% to 18,213.

The Shanghai Composite rose .6% to 2,896.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was off .1% to 4,340. The Dax was up .1% to 4,845, and the CAC 40 was flat at 3,221.
