Markets in Asia were sharply higher

The Nikkei rose 2.4% to 9,572.

The Hang Seng was up 1.4% to 22,086. HSBC (NYSE:HBC) rose.

The Shanghai Composite was up 1.3% to 3,235.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up 1.3% to 5,257. The Dax was higher by 1.5% to 5,700 and the CAC 40 rose 1.5%.
