Markets in Asia were mostly higher with Hong Kong closed.

The Nikkei rose 1.5% to 10,537.

The Shanghai Composite was up 2.6% to 3,153.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was flat at 5,373. HSBC (NYSE:HBC) rose. The Dax was closed. The CAC 40 rose .2% to 3,916.
