Markets in Asia were mixed.

The Nikkei rose 1.2% to 19,868.

The Hang Seng fell 1.6% to 20,895.

The Shanghai Composite was up .2% to 3,169.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE rose .6% to 5,453. The Dax was up .5% to 5,881. The CAC 40 rose .7% to 3,956.
