Markets in Asia were closed.

The Nikkei rose .2% to 10,034.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE rose .9% to 5,215. Barclays (NYSE:BCS) was up sharply after earnings. The Dax rose 1.2% to 5,579. The CAC 40 rose 1.1% to 3,649.
