Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) still has persisting rumors of new cell phone carrier distribution outside of AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T).  Various sources are citing a weekend report from The Tech Update about a Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S) iPhone coming as soon as this summer.  This also follows reports that Apple has stopped shipping the 3G iPhone to AT&T stores.

YSE: DIS) ended discussions to sell its struggling Miramax Films unit back to Hollywood producers Harvey and Bob Weinstein per the WSJ.

The Blackstone Group LP (NYSE: BX) has joined in with a group bidding for Australian hospital operator Healthscope.  If health reform here can’t be invested in, look overseas? (various)

Vodafone Group plc (NYSE: VOD) is looking at smaller asset sales as it will have to pay up for more spectrum. (WSJ blogs)

Billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic would consider a merger if BA-AA cement a deal (various).

P.S. Rumor has it that the Europeans might not know how to properly do a bailout (or govern themselves).
