China Passes US In Energy Use

China is now the world’s biggest energy consumer, taking the place the U.S. ha had  it held one hundred years, according to new data from the International Energy Agency.

China used a total of 2,252 million tons of oil equivalents 2009, or about 4% more than the U.S., which burned through 2,170 million tons of oil equivalent.
