A Third of People Don’t Like Negotiating (LNKD)

According to new research from LinkedIn Corp. (NYSE: LNKD), more than a third of global professionals are either frightened of or anxious about negotiating issues like salaries or business deals. The company surveyed more than 2,000 professionals in 8 countries.
Nearly as many respondents were confident about negotiation, while 10% found negotiating exciting, and another 10% were indifferent. US respondents were the most anxious about negotiating (39%), and Brazilian respondents were the most frightened (21%). German respondents were the most likely to be excited by negotiating (21%) and India led among those who are confident in negotiations (47%). The most indifferent: South Koreans (21%).
By a margin of 37% to 26%, men are more confident about negotiating than are women.
