The 52-Week Low Club for Thursday

October 30, 2014: Here are four stocks among the 119 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Avon Products Inc. (NYSE: AVP) dropped about 9.6% today to post a new 52-week low of $9.91. The stock’s 52-week high is $22.57. Avon announced third-quarter results this morning that were weak on revenue. Trading volume is about 7-times the daily average of around 4.5 million shares traded.

Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE: GG) dropped nearly 11% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $19.19 after closing at $21.52 on Wednesday evening. Share volume is about 3-times the daily average of around 5.2 million. The gold miner posted weak results the morning and, coupled with the weak report from Barrick yesterday, managed to drag most of the miners down with them. Gold prices didn’t help today, either, settling below $1,200 an ounce.

Pandora Media Inc. (NYSE: P) dropped to a third consecutive new 52-week low on on Thursday, this time to $18.51. Based on Wednesday night’s closing price of $19.23 that’s a drop of about 3.7%. The stock’s 52-week high is $40.44. Trading volume is about 10% above the daily average of around 6.8 million shares. Shares in the Internet radio company are down nearly 20% since reporting earnings last week.

STMicroelectronics NV (NYSE: STM) posted a drop of about 1.6% today to post a new 52-week low of $6.27 against a 52-week high of $10.00. Volume is approaching double the daily average of around 930,000 shares. The chipmaker had no news today, but missed revenue estimates when it reported earnings yesterday.
