New AMD Product Does Not Support VMWare (VMW)
September 11, 2007 by Douglas A. McIntyreAccording to The Inquirer, there may be a little hang-up in terms of AMD’s (AMD) sales of its new Barcelona chip. VMware (VMW) does not support Nested Paging, one of the key pieces of the architecture of the AMD next-generation product.
The news site points out: "Sadly, support for Nested Paging Tables will not be present in VMware offering until next-gen ESX, set to come to market at unannounced time."
Yet another reason Wall St. should not hold its breath for the big AMD recovery.
