Southern Copper Corporation is a leading miner and processor of copper and other minerals, with operations across Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, and Chile. Founded in 1952 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, the company specializes in extracting and refining copper, producing copper and molybdenum concentrates, and manufacturing products like sulfuric acid and refined silver, gold, and other materials. Southern Copper operates significant mines, including the Toquepala and Cuajone mines in Peru and the La Caridad and Buenavista mines in Mexico, along with various smelting and refining facilities.
