Coach Rex Ryan's Mansion Hits Market At $1.1 Million

Thinkstock

Fired Buffalo Bills coach, and formerly NY Jets coach, Rex Ryan has his house for sale. Ousted by the Bills, he no longer needs to have a home near Buffalow. So, 50 Grand View Trl, Orchard Park, NY is on the market for $1.1 million

The house might command a higher price, but it is near the badly battered city of Buffalo, one of the hardest hit urban areas the prosperity of which was hurt by the collapse of manufacturing.  Orchard Park has a population of just under 30,000. It is an affluent suburb. Over 97% of the residents are white. The median household income is $151,000. Only 1.1% of the families live below the poverty level.

These numbers contrast sharply with those of Buffalo. Its population is 261,000, down from a peak of 532,000 in 1960. Just over 50% of the families are white, and 39% are African Americans. The median household income is just over $24,000. Twenty six percent of the population lives below the poverty line.

The Ryan house is big at 6,500 square feet. It has four bedrooms, five full, and one half-bath. It sits on 1.3 acres. It was built in 2004. The house is much more expensive than the average house on the market which is $309,000.

The listing according to Realtor.com:

Premier lot with scenic views of the City…most exclusive area in Orchard Park. 4 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, 3.5 car garage, 5 Fireplaces, Professional Landscaping, grand foyer, gourmet kitchen with granite, sun room with wall of windows and views. Luxury master suite with all the extras…extended walk-in his and her closets. Bathrooms with heated floors, basement with full bar / custom wine cellar, walk out basement to custom built in-ground pool with hot tub. Full outdoor kitchen area.

Since Ryan’s employment in Buffalo is over, he may give a buyer a deal
