Economic Confidence Hits High Since May--Gallup

According to Gallup, economic confidence hit its highest level since May. It is another sign that consumers have thrown off the pessimism that had through the recession and the period just after. The mentality that cause the rise in holiday shopping seems to have continued into the early part of the year.

According to Gallup

U.S. economic confidence is at -25 in the week ending Jan. 22, improved from -29 the prior week and the best since the week ending May 22, 2011.

The measure was also high in the earlier part of 2011.
