A case which has been in the making for months, has finally settled. BP has been sued by a large number of businesses and individuals for damages due to oil leaks from the Deepwater Horizon explosion and leak.
Judge Carl Barbier said Friday night that as a result of the agreement that will be filed with the court for approval, the trial that was scheduled to begin Monday has been postponed for a second time.
And charges brought by the federal government may not be part of this arrangement at all, leave BP with a potent several billion in liabilities.
