Eurostat reports joblessness in Spain rose to 23.3% in January.
Should the counting process be similar to the one in the US which does not include the partially employed, the figure could be much higher. The data will cause more disagreement between the proponents of stimulus and those of austerity. It is not possible to make the argument that Spain’s unemployment can fall if government spending is sharply curtailed.
