July 16, 2013 by Jon C. Ogg

Investors frequently get to see the analyst upgrades and Buy ratings from Wall Street firms. What investors often do not get to see is when analyst downgrade stocks to sell or to avoid. 24/7 Wall St. reviews many fresh research calls each and every day to find great ideas from value stocks to growth stocks to dividend stocks, and we have broken out the negative analyst calls today. These are this Tuesday’s top analyst downgrades and cautious research notes from Wall Street.

Bloomin’ Brands Inc. (NASDAQ: BLMN) was cut to Neutral from Overweight by J.P. Morgan.

Brinker International Inc. (NYSE: EAT) was downgraded to Neutral from Overweight at J.P. Morgan.

DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) was downgraded to Sell from an already cautious Neutral rating by Goldman Sachs.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) was maintained as Buy but it was replaced by General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) on the Goldman Sachs Conviction Buy List.

Genesis Energy L.P. (NYSE: GEL) was cut to Neutral from Outperform at Credit Suisse.

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) was maintained Hold at Argus with negative comments: fully valued, earnings boosted by reserves that are tapering off, larger drop in the net interest margin and higher rates negative in near-term.

Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) was cut to Neutral from Buy at Goldman Sachs.
