The 52-Week Low Club for Thursday

November 19, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 100 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) dropped 12% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $5.28 against a high of $24.43. The stock closed at $6.00 on Wednesday night. Volume reached more than 2 times the daily average of around 19 million shares traded. The oil and gas producer’s debt took another tumble today, with some losing more than 12 cents to fall to just under 71 cents on the dollar.

Southwestern Energy Co. (NYSE: SWN) posted a new low on Thursday. Shares dropped about 7.5% to a low of $9.75 from Wednesday’s closing price of $10.54. The stock’s 52-week high is $34.96. Volume was about equal to the daily average of about 13 million shares. The company had no specific news today, but energy stocks suffered up and down the line today.

TerraForm Power Inc. (NASDAQ: TERP) dropped about 20% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $8.02 against a 52-week high of $42.66. The stock closed at $10.03 on Wednesday night. Volume was more than double the daily average of around 3 million shares traded. The yieldco controlled by SunEdison is one of several yieldcos to suffer from questions about future financing.

Archer Daniels Midland Co. (NYSE: ADM) dropped by about 3% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low at $36.28 after closing at $37.41 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $53.91. Share volume was about 15% above the daily average of around 4 million. The ag products maker was downgraded at TheStreet.com today.
