The 52-Week Low Club for Monday

April 4, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among just 13 equities making new 52-week lows in Monday’s session. Volume was light again Monday with winners trailing losers by nearly 50 points on the NYSE, while 56% of Nasdaq issuers traded lower.

EMCORE Corp. (NASDAQ: EMKR) posted a new 52-week low on Monday. Shares traded at a low of $4.95, down1%, after closing at $5.00 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $8.52. Volume totaled about 6 times the daily average of around 250,000 shares. The company had no specific news Monday.

Vivint Solar Inc. (NYSE: VSLR) dropped about 7.5% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $2.36 against a 52-week high of $16.00. The stock closed at $2.55 on Friday night. Volume was about 50% above the stock’s daily average volume of around 800,000. The solar installation company had no specific news Monday.

Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) dropped about 2.5% on Monday to post a new 52-week low at $100.91 after closing at $103.54 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $142.84. Share volume of about 1 million was more than double the daily average of around 450,000 shares traded. The Japan-based automaker said Monday that it will work with Microsoft to build connected cars.

LivaNova PLC (NASDAQ: LIVN) fell by about 7.3% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $49.45 against a high of $77.00. The stock closed at $53.36 on Friday night. Volume rose to nearly 1 million shares, roughly 3 times the daily average. The London-based therapeutics maker had no specific news on Monday.
