Apple Named World’s Most Valuable Brand at $178 Billion

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is the world’s top brand with a valuation of $178 billion. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) is the fastest growing, up 48% to $33 billion in the new Interbrand Best Global Brands 2016.

Apple’s valuation growth has slowed considerably, up only 5% from last year. Among the top 10, the fastest growing by far is Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), up 33% to $50 billion. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) lost the most ground among the top 10, down 19% to $53 billion.

Rounding out the top 10, Google, a division of Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL), is in second place, up 11% to $133 billion, followed by Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE: KO) at $73 billion, down 7%; Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) at $72 billion, up 8%; Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM), up 9% to $54 billion; Samsung, up 14% to $52 billion; Mercedes, up 18% to $43 billion; and General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE), up 2% to $42 billion.
