L Brands, TripAdvisor Duck into Thursday's 52-Week Low Club

February 23, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 61 equities making new 52-week lows in Thursday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by just 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq decliners led advancers by about 3 to 2.

L Brands Inc. (NYSE: LB) dropped about 17.5% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $47.93 after closing Wednesday at $58.13. The 52-week high is $88.77. Volume of about 24 million was nearly 10 times the daily average of around 2.6 million. The owner of Victoria’s Secret stores, among other mall retailers, gave a weak outlook when it reported earnings after markets closed Wednesday.

TripAdvisor Inc. (NASDAQ: TRIP) dropped about 4.5% Thursday, to post a new 52-week low of $43.48 after closing at $45.55 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $71.69. Volume was about 60% above the daily average of around 2.4 million shares. The company had no specific news today.

Gulfport Energy Corp. (NASDAQ: GPOR) dropped about 2.3% on Thursday to record a new 52-week low of $18.24. The stock closed at $18.66 on Wednesday. Volume was about 15% below the daily average of around 3.9 million shares. The company had no specific news Thursday.

Trevena Inc. (NASDAQ: TRVN) dropped about 6.3% Thursday, to post a new 52-week low of $3.70 after closing at $3.95 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $9.73. Volume was nearly 5 times the daily average of around 700,000 shares. The company’s pain-killing drug got mixed results in a trial result reported Tuesday.
