Boeing, 3M Dominate the DJIA Friday

June 2, 2017 by Paul Ausick

June 2, 2017: Markets opened higher again Friday following a lower-than-expected number from the non-farm payroll report. Bond yields were lower as investors are seeking cover for what looks to be less economic expansion than people expected in the heady days following last November’s election. Energy stocks were today’s big losers while industrials and tech stocks were the best performers. WTI crude oil for July delivery settled at $47.66 a barrel, down 1.5% for the day and down 4.3% for the week. August gold added 0.8% for the day to settle at $1,280.20, up about 1% for the holiday-shortened week. Equities were headed for a higher close shortly before the bell as the DJIA traded up 0.29 for the day, the S&P 500 traded up 0.36%, and the Nasdaq Composite traded up 0.92%. https://247wallst.com/energy-economy/2017/06/02/pump-prices-remain-low-as-refineries-soak-up-us-crude-oil-inventories/
