Harley-Davidson, Walgreens Tumble into Tuesday's 52-Week Low Club

October 17, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 72 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. On the NYSE, decliners led advancers by about 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq decliners led advancers by about 9 to 5.

Harley-Davidson Inc. (NYSE: HOG) dropped about 2.8% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $45.25 after closing at $46.57 on Monday. The 52-week high is $63.40. Volume was around 12.6 million, more than five times the daily average of about 2.3 million. The company’s third-quarter retails sales fell again, leading to questions about the strength of the brand.

Discovery Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: DISCA) dropped about 2.4% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $18.60 after closing at $19.06 on Monday. The 52-week high is $30.25. Volume was around 5.7 million, about 20% below the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Endo International plc (NASDAQ: ENDP) dropped about 2.9% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $7.40 after closing at $7.62 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $21.87. Volume of around 4.3 million was about 60% below the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. (NASDAQ: WBA) posted a new 52-week low of $66.92 on Tuesday, down about 0.6% from Monday’s closing price of $67.31. The stock’s 52-week high is $89.69. Volume totaled around 4.1 million shares, about 30% below the daily average. Investors remain jittery on the reported entry of Amazon into the prescription drug business.
