Anyone who’s been in the workforce for a few years has probably discovered that not all companies are created equal, especially when it comes to being good places to work. And while pay is important, it’s not the only thing that makes one company more desirable than another.

Online job and recruiting marketplace Glassdoor has just announced the results of its 10th annual Employees’ Choice Awards, naming the best places to work in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. U.S. companies have been split into two groups: small and medium businesses with up to 1,000 employees and large companies with more than 1,000 employees.

Among large U.S. companies, five of the top 10 are technology firms, two are consulting firms, one is fast-food chain, one is a research hospital and one is an apparel maker. Glassdoor bases its ratings on a minimum of 75 company and workplace factor ratings from employees of large companies and 25 from small company employees. The maximum possible score is 5.

The top 10 best places to work in 2018 are:

  • Facebook (4.6 rating)
  • Bain & Co. (4.6 rating)
  • Boston Consulting Group (4.6 rating)
  • In-N-Out Burger (4.6 rating)
  • Google (4.6 rating)
  • Lululemon (4.6 rating)
  • HubSpot (4.6 rating)
  • World Wide Technology (4.5 rating)
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (4.5 rating)
  • Ultimate Software (4.5 rating)

The top five small and medium-sized companies to work for are:

  • Silverline (a software integrator: 4.9 rating)
  • New Home Star (a seller of new homes: 4.9 rating)
  • Next Century (a technology company: 4.9 rating)
  • Acceleration Partners (a performance marketing firm: 4.9 rating)
  • Zoom Video Communications (a technology company: 4.9 rating)

All five of these companies are making their first appearance on Glassdoor list this year.

Only two companies appear on all five country lists: Microsoft (#39 on the U.S. list) and SAP (#11 on the U.S. list).

Facebook has now taken the top U.S. ranking three times (2018, 2013, 2011) and has made the list for eight consecutive years over the past decade. This year, Facebook also debuts on the United Kingdom list at number 4. Bain, Google and Apple are the only three employers to make the list all 10 years. Forty employers are new to the list this year, including Blizzard Entertainment, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, T-Mobile and Adidas.

Results for all countries and businesses are available at the Glassdoor.com website.
