Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is known for having some of the best content among online streaming services, with a revolving door new seasons and shows that grab our attention. Binge watching is a byproduct of this and is now a lot more common than in the past because whole seasons are available on Netflix instantly. Netflix took a look at itself and its subscribers and profiled what everyone is watching.
In 2017 so far, Netflix members around the world watched more than 140 million hours per day, totaling just a little more than 1 billion hours per week. The most popular day to watch fell on Sunday, January 1. Although this was only one day in and it seems that everyone already needed a comfort binge.
Netflix chopped up these stats into shows that subscribers devoured, savored and cheated on, and those that brought families together.
Shows that got devoured — watched more than two hours per day on average — included:
- American Vandal
- 3%
- 13 Reasons Why
- Anne With an E
- Riverdale
Subscribers savored — watched less than two hours per day — more shows like:
- The Crown
- Big Mouth
- Neo Yokio
- A Series of Unfortunate Events
- GLOW
Subscribers cheated on their significant other (not in a devious sense) by shamelessly watching a show ahead of or without their significant others. These shows more often than not were:
- Narcos
- 13 Reasons Why
- Stranger Things
- Orange Is the New Black
- Sense8
Finally, the shows that ranked the highest for bringing families or significant others together to watch were:
- Stranger Things
- 13 Reasons Why
- A Series of Unfortunate Events
- Star Trek Discovery
- Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life
Shares of Netflix were last seen at $186.88, with a consensus analyst price target of $215.03 and a 52-week range of $122.50 to $204.38.
