Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN) is getting clipped after earnings because of a disappointing guidance. The maker of Invisalign teeth systems is seeing shares trade down about 12% to $18.21 in light volume trading.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) is trading down 1.6% at $162.35 in active trading. The drop is probably less than what many might have considered when the stock was down 4% in earlier indications. Margins remain under pressure at the company due to expansions, although earnings appear to have been ahead of estimates.

ArcSight, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARST) is halted this morning.  NASDAQ has this listed as “T12 CODE: Trading is halted pending receipt of additional information requested by NASDAQ.” Stay tuned.

Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU) is up after profits more than doubled and beat expectations.  Shares are up 4% more to $106.65 on very active trading and the 52-week range is $35.30 to $107.19.

LiveDeal, Inc. (NASDAQ: LIVE) is seeing shares up 10% at $15.44 this morning so far on very thin trading volume.  This stock usually trades 4,000 shares per day but the stock was up exponentially yesterday on over 200,000 shares as the move went from under $5 to over $22 with a close of $14.00.  Be advised, the bid/ask spread here is wide enough for a fleet of trucks to drive through.

LM Ericsson Telephone Co. (NASDAQ: ERIC)  managed to beat earnings expectations and shares are up 6.5% at $11.47 in active pre-market trading.  Share volume was active overseas already.

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is trading down less than 1% this morning, but this is after yesterday’s large gain. On last look, shares were down about 0.8% around $171.40.

Riverbed Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: RVBD) is soaring this morning after exceeding earnings targets.  Analysts are chasing the name up this morning and the stock’s last trade was up over 13% at $52.00 versus a prior 52-week trading range of $19.62 to $48.78.

SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) is running after earnings held up better than many had feared.  The pure-play flash memory giant is seeing a gain of 6% to $39.36 on more than 200,000 shares this morning.

ViroPharma Incorporated (NASDAQ: VPHM) was halted after the FDA issued a complete response letter regarding Cinryze™ and has requested additional information.

(NASDAQ: AONE) is surging after it opened the largest lithium ion automotive battery manufacturing plant in North America.  The CEO has also been giving a CNBC interview to show how these batteries will be for domestic sale and will also be exported.  Shares are up 10.7% at $8.15 on over 150,000 shares.

Ascent Solar Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI) is surging on news that it has a deal with Radiant Holding Ltd. in China to distribute its PV modules in China’s solar market.  Ascent shares are up 8.6% at $3.16.

Arc Sight, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARST) is trading higher by 25% at $44.07 on more than 2.5 million shares after Hewlett-Packard announced a $43.50 per share offer to acquire ArcSight for its security and compliance.

Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (NYSE: FAS) is seeing a surge this morning on relief rallies in many financial shares this morning.  With the triple-leverage, shares are up 4% at $22.29 on more than 325,000 shares.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. (NYSE: DTG) is up 5.7% at $50.75 on over 140,000 on a sweetened $50 merger bid from Hertz.

OpenTable, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPEN) is trading up after Citigroup raised its rating to BUY from HOLD… Shares are up 4.1% at $59.21.

OXiGENE, Inc. (NASDAQ: OXGN) is surging on positive results against Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer treatment.  Shares are up 47%, but this is just a $0.40 stock even after the move.

Seattle Genetics, Inc. (NASDAQ: SGEN) is trading lower after a tria lof its leukemia drug failed to met their endpoints.  Shares are down nearly 5% at $12.10 on more than 200,000 shares.

VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) is down after Barron’s noted cautiously about its growth prospects and that it is vulnerable to competition and trades at 61-times expected earnings.  Shares are down 1.3% at $83.80 on light trading.  It is surprising this did not take more of a bite out of the company.

Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) was given the front-page cover story called “Just Try to Copy That” noting it could go to $14 or $15 in the next year.  Shares are trading up 5.5% at $9.61 on over 150,000 shares.

The ArcSight transaction would value the company at about$43.25. The stock closed at $35.10 of Friday and fell over 1% during the day—a sign that no investors had inside information and decided to use it to “front run” the deal. ArcSight provides compliance and security management solutions to protect enterprises and government agencies.

The company had revenue of $48 million in the quarter that ended July 31, and net income of $3 million. Those numbers were above Wall St. forecasts.

IT Security Stocks have gained 15.9% in the past month. The best performing stocks in the sector are ArcSight Inc., (NASDAQ: ARST) up 55.5%, McAfee Inc., (NYSE: MFE) up 42.5%, and CommVault Systems Inc., (NASDAQ: CVLT) up 35.6%.

Arc Sight, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARST) is trading higher this morning based  on a potential sale that rocketed shares higher yesterday.  Shares are up 4% at $38.08 on over 50,000 shares.

ImmunoGen Inc. (NASDAQ: IMGN) is getting whacked by 25% to $6.25 this morning after partner Genentech disclosed a receipt of a Refuse to File letter from the FDA for trastuzumab-DM1.

J. Crew Group, Inc. (NYSE: JCG) is down after its 2010 guidance was not up to par.  Shares are down almost 7% at $31.10 on over 50,000 shares.

Netezza Corporation (NYSE: NZ) is surging after profits quadrupled and after raising full year guidance.  Shares  are up 17% at $17.50.  This is higher than early indications, but trading volume is still thin at under 20,000 shares.

3PAR, Inc. (NYSE: PAR) up 10.9% at $38.87 versus the matched $27 offer from Dell against HP.

Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOMX) is up 3% at $4.74 on a second day run after yesterday’s P&G deal.  Volume is rather light at almost 70,000 shares.

SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ: SPWRA) is trading up up 4.7% at $10.50 on an analyst upgrade.

Sterling Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: STSA) is down 10% at $0.53 after it completed a recapitalization yesterday.

ArcSight, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARST) is one of the top gainers after beating earnings.  Shares are up over 12% at $22.25 on almost 30,000 shares; the 52-week range is $14.23 to $29.33 and average volume is about 460,000 shares.

BP plc (NYSE: BP) is up again for a second day despite talks of a dividend cut.  Shares are up 5.1% at $32.78 on almost 3 million shares.  Shares closed at $32.78 after yesterday’s gap up and the intra-day range had a high of $33.04 and a low of $30.89.

Exide Technologies (NASDAQ: XIDE) is higher after announcing a new licensing agreement with Honeywell (NYSE: HON) consumer products unit to use the Autolite trademark on its batteries.  Shares are up 5.5% at $5.69 on close to 25,000 shares.

Medical Nutrition USA, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDNU) is the top gainer at a 40% gain due to Danone acquiring the company.  Danone North America, Inc. will acquire all the outstanding shares at $4.00 per share in cash, in a $62.3 million deal.  Shares are up 40% at $3.91, but volume is tiny on this one.

Repros Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: RPRX) is surging this morning on news that the FDA has lifted a full clinical hold to a partial hold on Repros Therapeutics’ Proellex.  Shares are up almost 40% at $0.67 on about 75,000 shares.  The 52-week range is $0.45 to $7.80 and average volume is 1.66 million shares.

Sequenom Inc. (NASDAQ: SQNM) is a large gainer after Auriga raised the rating to BUY from HOLD and raised the price target to $9.00.  Shares are up 4.4% at $6.20 on about 75,000 shares.

Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc. (NYSE: WEN) may be real or may be implied, but Nelson Peltz’s Trian Fund said in a SEC filing that it has received an oral inquiry from a third party that expressed preliminary interest about a possible acquisition involving Wendy’s/Arby’s Group.  Shares are up 9.9% at $4.77 on over 50,000 shares; the 52-week range is $3.55 to $5.55.  This was one of our recent “stocks which could double” in our screens.
