FBI: Cyber Terrorists Could Prepare Massive US Attack

Websites in the US were attacked by hackers earlier this year. The assaults slowed down some sites and closed other online services completely. It was assumed at the time that the attacks originated in North Korea and one or more countries that were part of the old Soviet Union.

McAfee (NYSE:MFE), the security software company, recently issued a report saying that the US, Russia, China, Israel, and France have built their own capacity to make cyber attacks on other nations.

Cybersecurity: Obama’s Next Big-Ticket Agenda Item

It’s taken a back seat to health care, but one of the next big agenda items for President Obama’s administration is cybersecurity, a priority that is becoming all the more clear following July 4 hacker attacks on the White House, the Pentagon and the New York Stock Exchange.

The Associated Press reports that the attack on U.S. and South Korean government agencies last week was even broader than first realized. McAfee CFO Heads to Electronic Arts (MFE, ERTS)

Well, now we have a better idea as to why the CFO of video game publisher Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) was leaving the company.  McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) just announced after the close that its CFO Eric Brown is resigning from the company to become CFO of Electronic Arts.

McAfee was the one caught off guard it appears.  The company said it has begun a search for a permanent CFO from internal and external candidates.
