Dataram Corp. (NASDAQ: DRAM) is down 12% at $2.05.

Independent Bank Corp. (NASDAQ: IBCP) is down 12% at $7.36.

The US dollar index fell today, now down -0.44% at 81.631. The GSCI commodity index is up about 0.9% at 581.87, with commodities prices mixed again today. WTI crude oil closed up 0.1% at $84.03/barrel, virtually flat for the week. Brent crude trades up 0.37% at $97.53/barrel. Natural gas rose fell about -1.4% today to $2.46/thousand cubic feet. Gold settled up 0.5%, at $1,628.10/ounce, and finished the week up about 2.3%.

The unofficial closing bells put the DJIA up more than 115 points to 12,767.17 (0.91%), the NASDAQ rose more than 36 points (1.29%) to 2,872.80, and the S&P 500 rose 1.03% or nearly 14 points to 1,342.83.

There were several analyst upgrades and downgrades today, including Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) reiterated ‘outperform’ with a target price of $750 at Credit Suisse; Family Dollar Stores Inc. (NYSE: FDO) cut to ‘equal-weight’ at Barclays; Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) started as ‘buy’ at Citigroup; Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) maintained as ‘buy’ with a target price of $28 at Argus; and Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ: ORCL) raised to ‘buy’ at ThinkEquity.

Earnings reports since markets closed last night have been scarce, but here are some price changes for reporting companies as of the last half hour of trading today: Capstone Turbine Corp. (NASDAQ: CPST) is up 2% at $1.01 and Rubicon Minerals Corp. (AMEX: RBY) is up 1.6% at $3.14.

Our preview of the top ten earnings reports due next week includes FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), ConAgra Foods Inc. (NYSE: CAG), and Red Hat Inc. (NYSE: RHT).

Other standouts from today include the following stocks:

ATP Oil & Gasd Corp. (NASDAQ: ATPG) is up 34.5% at $5.42. The exploration & production company filed suit today against the US government over the shutdown of drilling in the Gulf of Mexico following the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.

Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) is down -22% at $2.24. The miniature laser technology company priced a secondary offering today well below last night’s closing price.

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) is up 2.3% at $30.00. The software giant is rumored to be preparing to launch a tablet product. More coverage here.

The unofficial closing bells put the DJIA down about 1.5 points to 12,981.51 (-0.01%), the NASDAQ rose more than 2 points (0.08%) to 2,966.16 and the S&P 500 rose 0.14% or nearly 2 points to 1,367.59.

There were several analyst upgrades and downgrades today, including Sears Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: SHLD) maintained as ‘underperform’ at Credit Suisse; Interpublic Group of Companies Inc. (NYSE: IPG) raised to ‘buy’ at Deutsche Bank; Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. (NASDAQ: DNKN) started as ‘buy’ at Citgroup; American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) raised to ‘buy’ at Jefferies; and United Rentals Inc. (NYSE: URI) started as ‘buy’ at Citigroup.

Earnings reports since markets closed last night have led to some price changes as of the last half hour of trading today: The AES Corp. (NYSE: AES) is down -0.51% at $13.73; Balchem Corp. (NASDAQ: BCPC) is down about -17% at $29.52 after posting a new 52-week low of $29.35 earlier; Charter Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) is up 0.2% at $63.55 after posting a new 52-week high of $64.39 earlier this morning; Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (NYSE: CTB) is up nearly 14% at $17.81; El Paso Corp. (NYSE: EP) is up 1.8% at $27.65, a new 52-week high; Lowes Companies Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is up 0.83% at $27.39; Quicksilver Resources Inc. (NYSE: KWK) is down -5.8% at $5.73; Transocean Ltd. Cheniere Energy Partners L.P. (AMEX: CQP) is up about 14% at $23.80 after posting a new 52-week high of $24.21 earlier. The liquefied natural gas company announced an investment from Blackstone Group LP (NYSE: BX). More coverage here.

Dendreon Corp. (NASDAQ: DNDN) is down more than -20% at $11.83. The drug maker reported lower-than-expected revenues this morning. More coverage here.

Intermolecular Inc. (NASDAQ: IMI) is down more than -15% at $6.31 after posting a new 52-week low of $6.02. The semiconductor equipment and materials company’s stock is likely reacting to the bankruptcy filing by Japanese chipmaker Elpida.

Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) is down more than -16% at $3.28. The laser display company reported very poor earnings this morning.

Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: OREX) is up a whopping 150% from $4.76 to $11.90 premarket after the FDA approved a key weight loss drug. Shares of OREX are now trading well above the prior 52-week range of $3.81-$8.88.

Ryanair Holdings plc. (NASDAQ: RYAAY) is up 2.3% premarket compared to a trading range of $21.55-$33.38.

Vivus Inc. (NASDAQ: VVUS) is up more than 20% on heavy volume to $9.54, relative to a 52-week range of $4.69-$13.68. The biopharmaceutical company announced favorable study outcomes of a drug in phase III.

BP plc (NYSE: BP) is trading higher after the troubled oil giant returned to a profit, even if its well costs remain an open-ended issue.  Shares are indicated up around $41.30 after a $40.70 close.

Cognex Corp. (NASDAQ: CGNX) beat earnings estimates after net income tripled and after guiding quarterly revenues ahead of estimates.  Shares are trading up 6.5% at $28.40 at a new 52-week high above $27.99.

Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: CCUR) is lower after posting an unexpected loss for the quarter.  Shares closed at $6.90 and shares are down 28% at $4.96.

Corporate Office Properties Trust (NYSE: OFC) is lower this morning after announcing a 6.5 million shares secondary offering.  Shares are indicated down about 4% just under $34.50 after a $35.87 close and against a 52-week range of $31.77 to $43.61.

Evergreen Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: ESLR) had a narrower loss than before but was light on estimates; shares are indicated down 7% at $0.89 this morning.

Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd. (NASDAQ: MPEL) is hitting 52-week highs up over 7% at $7.00 after beating earnings with a surprise profit.

MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. (NYSE: WFR) missed Q3 earnings estimates and withdrew offering guidance.  Shares were down over 10% last night in the after-hours session, but now shares are down ‘only’ about 3% around $12.30 in active trading.

Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) is down 14% at $1.72 after posting a wider than expected loss yesterday after the close.  Volume is thin, but this marks a 52-week low as the prior 52-week trading range was $1.91 to $4.11.

NutriSystem Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRI) rose approximately 7% last night after beating earnings despite revenues being a tad light.  This morning shares are trading up 5.6% at $19.85 in thin pre-market trading.

TechTeam Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: TEAM) is merging with a Stefanini IT Solutions affiliate for $8.35 per share; shares are trading up 16% at $8.30 on very thin trading volume.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), the only tech company anyone still cares about, is trading higher ahead of its new iPod and TV development expectations due at the Apple event today.  Shares are indicated up 1.3% at $246.30 on over 100,000 shares.

Burger King Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BKC) is trading up on private equity buyout chatter.  Interestingly enough, options already signaled this.  Shares are trading up at $19.40 on over 120,000 shares versus a $16.45 close on Tuesday.

LM Ericsson Telephone Co. (NASDAQ: ERIC) is trading up after discussing a joint venture between Sony and Ericsson to grow in China, shares are up 3.8% at $9.63 on 35,000 ADRs.

G-III Apparel Group, LTD. (NASDAQ: GIII) is trading up sharply after beating earnings and guiding higher.  Shares are up 21% at $29.28 on over 20,000 shares; the 52-week range is $12.83 to $31.20.

Joy Global Inc. (NASDAQ: JOYG) is up only marginally after earnings came to $1.13 EPS and $850 million in revenues versus Thomson Reuters estimates of $1.02 EPS and $787.2 million in revenues.  Joy also raised 2010 guidance to $4.10 to $4.15 EPS versus $3.85 to $4.00 prior and versus $4.01 EPS from Thomson Reuters.  Shares are up only 0.8% at $57.00 versus a 52-week range of $35.32 to $65.93 on 12,000 shares.

Microvision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) is a day-two move after new financing and also on hope that its Pico projector will be tied in to Apple somehow.  Shares are up 4.6% at $2.72 on 10,000 shares.

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is up after Piper Jaffray maintained an Overweight rating as any rumored deal with Apple TV would expand its business.  Shares closed at $125.52 and shares are now up over 3% at $125.52 on over 20,000 shares.

Saks Inc. (NYSE: SKS) may have just had some wind taken out of its sails after JPMorgan cut the rating to Neutral as all upside in any deal (which has been rumored on multiple occasions in the past).  Shares are down 5.7% at $7.45 on nearly 100,000 shares.

Salary.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: SLRY) is seeing a major price surge on crummy volume.  The HR-software company is up 43% at $4.11 after Kanexa offered $81 million to buy the company.  This is a $4.07 all cash tender offer.

Netlist, Inc. (NASDAQ: NLST) is trading up again this morning by 5%.

China Medical Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMED) is the worst loser, or fighting for it, on a percentage basis this morning.

Microvision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) is fighting CMED for the worst performer this morning.
