Asia Markets And Europe Open (11/16/2009)

chinaMost markets in Asia rose sharply.

The Nikkei was up .2% to 9,791. Mitsubishi UFJ (NYSE:MTU) fell.

The Hang Seng rose 1.7% to 22,944.

The Shanghai Composite was up 2.7% to 3,275.

At the open in Europe, The FTSE was up .7% to 5,332. Rio Tinto (NYSE:RTP) rose. The Dax was up 1.2% to 5,752. The CAC 40 rose .8% to 3,837.

Coal IPO Hikes Planned Sale (CLD, RTP, ACI)

Coal ImageIt seems that there is no caution in all the pending Initial Public Offerings coming to market.  Cloud Peak Energy, Inc. is raising the amount targeted for its capital raise of up to $650 million from an initial target of $500 million when the filing was first made in August 2009.  This one will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “CLD”  and the listed underwriters in the amended prospectus are Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, and RBC Capital Markets.

Asia Markets And Europe Open 10/14/2009

chinaMarkets in Asia were mixed.

The Nikkei dropped .3% to 10,051.

The Hang Seng moved up 1.7% to 21,839. PetroChina (NYSE:PTR) and Sinopec (NYSE:SNP) moved up on oil prices.

The Shanghai Composite rose 1.2% to 2,970

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up 1.3% to 5,220. Rio Tinto (NYSE:RTP) rose. The Dax was higher by 1.3% to 5,781. and the CAC 40 rose 1.4% to 3,854.
